About me

If you care to know about me, I will tell you.

I am a paramedic at a moderately-sized private ambulance service in the Southeastern United States.  My service employs about 500 field EMTs and Medics, and puts around 40 ambulances on the road every day, with a mix of 911 ALS, non emergency ALS and non emergency BLS.  My service employs some of the smartest and best paramedics I have ever met.  We also have some people who continue to amaze me with their ability to chew gum and walk at the same time.

Our primary 911 zone serves approximately 725,000 people.  This county has been reported to be the most-educated in this state, and ranks as one of the top 100 wealthiest in the nation.  I like most of the residents of this area.  Most of the time.

I have worked in the medical field for more than 10, but less than 20 years.  I have worked in medium-sized emergency rooms, as a monitor technician on a coronary care floor, on 911 ALS ambulances, critical care ambulances, and fixed-wing air ambulances.  I prefer the ambulance.  I would much prefer a challenging critical care transfer over a multi-system trauma.
I get along with most people, unless those people are absolutely stupid.  I have been known to be opinionated, and have never been scared to share those opinions.  Politically, I have been described as "Right of Reagan."
